End of Week 4 Term 2 Pānui

Kia ora e te whānau,

What a fantastic day we had yesterday for our school Cross Country and Fun Run. So much wairua (resilience) was on display and I was really proud of everyone’s involvement! The vibe, the community support and the whānau involvement further showcased our school value of whanaungatanga. Massive thanks to Anna/Robbie and the support crew for your help in organising all the awesome features of the fun run which made for a fab way to celebrate being active together. Here are a bunch of photos that were taken on the day. These are a couple of my favourites that I thought really showcased that grit and grind!

Parking:

Just a friendly reminder that the parks in yellow right outside the school are designed for a quick after school pick up. If you want to stay for a play and a chat, please avoid using those parks to help alleviate the congestion problem which occurs between 3.00-3.15pm.

Education Outside the Classroom:

Thanks to those who have done the form asking for permission to take your child on any excursions within the Palmerston North boundary. The link has been emailed as well. Please can you do it if you haven’t.

Epic Music Lessons:
This afternoon we had a fantastic demonstration from Alistair and the team at Epic Music. If your child comes home buzzing and wants to sign up for a range of lessons, check out their flyer here. Keyboard lessons with Heather will still continue with her though, this is just offering a few more options.

Cluster Chess

Next Thursday; Munroe Yr 2, Henry Yr 4, Ada Yr 4, Elias Yr 4, Manawa Yr 5, Callum Yr 5, Theo Yr 6, Myah Yr 6 and Rosalie Yr 6 are representing Turitea at Cluster Chess. Ka rawe koutou! (Awesome team)

Hangi Orders:

I love me a hangi! If you’ve never had one, get your orders in here for our Matariki Celebration on Monday 13th June from 5.30pm at the Rangitāne Marae on Maxwells Line. Vegetarian options available also.

Reporting to Parents:

Are you interested in giving me your feedback about our reports at the end of term? If you are, I’d love to chat with you. Either email me or come and see me for a yarn about them as I’d love some parent voice.

Turitea Hoodies:
