End of Week 5 Term 2 Pānui

Kia ora e te whānau,

Hoping this finds you all alive and well this week marking the halfway point of the term. I am really excited to take the teachers on a bit of ‘roady’ on Tuesday as we are visiting 3 local schools to see the cool things they are doing. Thanks for your support in finding alternative arrangements for your children so that we can do this. It will be really nice for me to take the team to my ‘old haunts’ at Russell Street School in the morning, a place really special to me. Then Central Normal School just before midday and College Street School in the afternoon.

From the PTA:

The Pool Party is all set for Saturday 11th June at the Freyberg Pools from 6-8pm. We look forward to seeing you all there with your children to reconnect and build on the whanaungatanga that has been missing. The Family Pies fundraisers order forms will go out on Skool Loop in the coming weeks to stock up the freezer. Paper copies can be requested at the office for other members of the family to take to work etc. Reminder that today is the last day to order your Turitea Hoodie. Order here and pay online if you haven’t got to it.

Marae/Hangi:

Thanks to those parents who have offered their support for our upcoming trip on Monday 13th/Tuesday 14th June. If you’ve put down that you’d like to stay for the noho with your Year 5/6 student, please can you get the police vetting form back into the office on Wednesday morning so we can get those processed. Don’t forget to get your hangi orders in here for the Matariki Celebration on Monday evening. Vegetarian options available also.

Cluster Chess

What an amazing turnout for this yesterday. 52 kids from across the six schools in our Fitzherbert Cluster took part. We had a great showing with Henry coming 1st overall in Year 3/4, Ada coming 2nd in the Girls and Elias coming 3rd in the Year 3/4. Thanks Jonathan for taking these amazing photos.
