This will be a formal event for our whole school to give out End of Year certificates from each class and wrap up the year. All parents are welcome to attend. It will be in Tane Mahuta, unless it is a sunny day and then we have it under the shade sails in the quad.

PTA Christmas Party: Wednesday 14th December from 1-3pm
The pool will be open, kids will be encouraged to bring their water guns and pool toys for an afternoon of fun to finish the year. A couple of slices of pizza, an ice block and a visit from Santa to finish the day. There will be quiet options for those who prefer that too.

End of Year Reports Live on Hero: Wednesday 14th December approx 4pm
You will get sent a notification saying that your child’s report is ready to view online. It will look and feel similar to the interim report that went home in July, but will just be housed within Hero. You will be able to print these if you would like to keep hard copies of these, I will include a guide on how to do this. Also within Hero, if your child is here next year, you will be able to see their placement for 2023, including their teacher, classroom and classmates. We will make time on Thursday morning to go and hang out in their new space for 2023 and meet their new team.

We will have Korero Mai (Learning Conferences) on Monday 30th January 2023, which is time for you to meet with the teacher and for your child to share some personal artifacts that are important to them to help build that whanaungatanga (positive relationship) with their kaiako. Booking information for this will be put out on Hero.

Interschool Athletics:
Yesterday Chris took 20 of our Year 5/6 athletes to the Palmerston North Interschool Athletics Competition at Massey Track. Special mention to Manawa for placing 2nd in Year 5 Boys Long Jump and Samantha for placing 3rd in Year 6 Girls High Jump. Huge thanks to the parents who helped transport and supervise our kids. We’ve been a bit light on the ground with teachers at the moment, so unfortunately I couldn’t make it.

Kapa Haka:
On Tuesday morning, our Senior Kapa Haka group were invited to perform waiata with the help of Whaea Tūrehu to open the Geoscience Society Conference at Massey University. Their passion and mana (power) was on show. We look forward to them having the chance to perform to you at the end of year festivities. The picture above shows the moment after their performance.
