There were some misleading posts doing the rounds on social media about some schools being closed because of the fire at the old Fitz building last night. I’m lucky to be well-connected to ‘the goings on’ at other schools in Palmy, so I made the call that if schools closer to town were open for business, then there was no risk to us if we did the same....

End of Term 4 Week 3 Pānui
Kia ora e te whānau, Mihi atu ki a koutou (Big thanks everyone) if you came along to our annual Lamb, Calf and Pet Day last Friday. This is one event that helps us retain our ‘rural school’ status and was a beautiful way to spend a sunny Friday evening. It was also a great showcase of some of our students' commitment outside of school to our uara (value) of kaitiakitanga by looking after their animals. Pictured below are some of my favourite photos. End of Term 4 Week 2 Pānui
Ngā mihi o te rangi (Greetings today) There's been a definite buzz around our school this week as we get ready for our Lamb, Calf and Pet Evening tonight. The gingerbread decorating began this morning, miniature scenes (below) were created in our junior classes, along with the ‘rock on’ challenge in our middle classes and the scarecrows in our senior classes. Despite some less-than-ideal weather earlier in the week, the day is looking beautiful so far, let's hope it holds for our 4pm start.
