Ngā Wahanga (School Dates)

In 2026, the first day of school is Thursday 29th January, but Puna Kōrero (Learning Conferences) will be held the day before on Wednesday 28th January in classrooms.

-Term 1: Thursday 29th January – Thursday 2nd April
-Term 2: Monday 20th April – Friday 3rd July
-Term 3: Monday 20th July – Friday 25th September
-Term 4: Monday 12th October – Thursday 10th December

There will be no school on the following days:
-Waitangi Day – Friday 6th February.
-Staff Only Day – Monday 9th February.

-Good Friday – Friday 3rd April
-ANZAC Day – Monday 27th April (observed)
-Staff Only Day – Friday 29th May.
-King’s Birthday – Monday 1st June.
-Labour Day – Monday 26th October.

Ngā Hāora (School Hours)

Time	Schedule
8.30am	Students enter the school grounds and use the facilities
9:00 – 11:00am	First Block (Core Subjects of English/Mathematics are taught)
11:00 – 11:30am	Paramanawa/Morning Tea (Our ākonga play first and eat at 11.20am)
11:30 – 12:50pm	Second Block (Core Subjects of English/Mathematics are taught)
12:50 – 1:40pm	Wā tina/Lunch (Our ākonga play first and eat at 1:20pm)
1:40 – 3:00pm	Last Block (Usually Arts, Science, Inquiry, PE is taught)
3:00pm	School finishes

Apoapo/Ngakuru (Pick up/Drop off)

Morning Drop Off

Students can be dropped off at school from 8:00am if parents have commitments before 8:30am. During this time, children are asked to wait quietly in the quad area until 8:30am, when they are welcome to use the school facilities. Please note, they are not supervised by staff during this time.

Afternoon Pick Up

Due to limited parking around our kura, we ask whānau to arrive at either 3:00pm or 3:15pm to collect their child at the end of the day. Music plays to signal all children who haven’t been collected yet to sit and wait on the office porch for their parents to arrive. Front gates are shut, but not locked.

Wednesdays: Music plays at 3:15pm (To give all staff a chance to meet in Mataī together)
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: Music plays at 3:30pm

Supervision & Safety

Please note that active staff supervision is only provided during official school hours which are outlined above. While we are happy to provide designated wait areas for students outside of these hours, responsibility for children before 8:30am and after 3:00pm remains with parents and whānau. We greatly appreciate your support in ensuring your child is dropped off and collected safely!
